Huaraz - Anta Airport Shuttle

Comandante FAP Germán Arias Graziani Airport (IATA code: ATA) is located in the peruvian district of Anta (Carhuaz Province, Ancash Region).

It is important to note that Huaraz doesn’t have an airport within the city, so it is necessary to take a bus from Aeroexpreso Airport Shuttle to Anta Airport. The distance between Anta Airport and Huaraz is 24 kilometers (15 miles).

Anta Airport is also the gateway to other cities in the Callejón de Huaylas (Santa River Valley), such as Carhuaz, Yungay, and Caraz.

If I haven’t booked my flight yet, how do I get to Huaraz by plane?

If you wish to travel to Huaraz, you must fly to Anta with Latam Airlines and then take the Aeroexpreso bus to Huaraz.

The only airline that serves Anta Airport is Latam Airlines, with a daily flight from Lima in the morning and a second flight on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon. Note that airlines and search engines show this destination under the name Huaraz, even when the airport is in another city. If you are flying from another city in Peru or abroad, you can find connections via Lima included in the same Latam ticket.

We recommend booking the Latam Airlines flight and the Aeroexpreso Airport Shuttle ticket, don’t wait until the day of your flight to buy the airport shuttle ticket.

We depart every day of the year on time and we don’t expect the bus to be full.

Taxis cost three times more than a ticket on Aeroexpreso Airport Shuttle and if you travel from the city to the airport, they will increase by 35% due to rush hour. Some taxis are not even authorized to travel between Huaraz and the airport, since, as mentioned, the Huaraz airport is actually located in the province of Carhuaz. Additionally, there are informal transporters who could delay your trip because if they don’t get the necessary passengers, they won’t make the trip. They may also be stopped and fined by the police, as this service is illegal.
